General Applications

The Town of Quispamsis offers a Community Grant Program to support groups and organizations in Quispamsis and the Greater Saint John region who contribute to the quality of life of our residents.

Each year, as part of its budget process, Town Council will review and consider applications for funding.

Apply to join our team at the Town of Quispamsis.

We offer full- and part-time, contract, and student positions as needed.

The Town of Quispamsis reserves the right to require criminal record checks upon hiring.

Speak directly to your town leadership by filling out a Request to Address Council.

An address to Council can be up to ten minutes long.

Requests must be submitted by the Council Agenda deadline of 1 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the scheduled meeting date.

Any person has a right to request and receive information related to the public business of the Town of Quispamsis, have access to records containing personal information about themselves or request corrections to records containing personal information about themselves in the custody and control of the Town pursuant to the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RTIPPA) of New Brunswick.

The Town is committed to safeguarding the personal information of its residents and the public.

Quispamsis is represented by residents and council members on various boards, commissions and committees which help shape the future of the town and region.

If you are interested in serving on a board, commission, or committee, you can complete and submit a Town Committee Application, along with your resume.

Building and Development Applications

You require the following in your application:
  • Property Address
  • Property Identification Number (PID Number)
  • Property Description
  • Contractor Contact Information
  • Applicant Contact Information
  • Active Email Address
  • Property Owner Letter of Consent
  • Property measurements (area, frontage, width, proximity from project to property lines)
  • Approval for work near or within easements (example: NB Power)
  • Septic Approval from Province (for homes not on municipal sewerage system)
  • WAWA (Watercourse and Wetland Alteration) Permit for property that is on waterfront or watercourse within Site plan
  • Site Plan
  • Zoning

The Local Improvement Program offers you the chance to have Council consider upgrades to your street, sidewalk, curb, storm sewer and more through a cost-sharing agreement.

 

A Rezoning Application initiates a process that includes, but is not limited to, consultation with Town staff, feedback and recommendations from the Planning Advisory Committee, public hearings and a decision of Quispamsis Town Council.

 

 

Property owners who wish to create new boundaries or alter existing boundaries need to complete a Subdivision Application through the Town of Quispamsis.

 

If you have an addition or renovation planned for your property that does not meet the requirements of the Town of Quispamsis Zoning By-Law, you may apply  to the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) for a variance.

 

Community Services Applications

Founded in 2005, Jumpstart helps kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities.

 

 

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sport programs and experience the lifelong benefits of a season of sport.

KidSport New Brunswick provides grants of up to $400 per eligible kid, per calendar year towards sport registration fees.

 

 

P.R.O. Kids, a charitable program operated by the City of Saint John, can pay the registration fees, equipment costs, and transportation costs related to organized, registered recreation.

 

 

The Town of Quispamsis has three (3) $750 scholarships, to be awarded to graduating Quispamsis students attending High School.

The Town of Quispamsis offers financial support to individual athletes, teams and leagues who are hosting an event in our community or travelling and representing the region in a sporting or cultural event.

Fill out and submit a Sponsorship Program Application (up to $100 available) or a Sport Hosting Fund Application (up to $1,000 available) to take advantage of these funds.

 

Special Event Applications

The Town of Quispamsis offers partnership opportunities to area businesses who wish to show support the Town's summer series of entertainment, including Movies in the Park and Music in the Park.

As part of our recreational and entertainment activities in July and August, the Town of Quispamsis hosts the Music in the Park series on Tuesday nights at the Arts and Culture Park.

We accept applications from acts wishing to perform. (Please note: An application is not a guarantee of performance.)

Join Canada Day festivities in the Town of Quispamsis by being a part of the entertainment at the event.

Be a part of Canada Day festivities in the Town of Quispamsis by being a vendor on July 1.

Just fill out our Canada Day Vendor Application and bring it to the qplex Administration Office or email it to our Summer Programs staff.

 

 

 

The Fall Community Expo is a one-stop registration opportunity for busy families to get involved in the community!

This application is for groups/organizations that have activities (sports, music, dance, academics etc.) for any age and who wish to host a booth at this event.

 

 

The Town of Quispamsis offers financial support to sporting events and activities taking place at one or more Town facilities through its Sport Hosting Program.

 

 

You can apply to host an event in our community using the Special Event Application. You will be asked to provide important information about the date, time and type of event, potential street closures, the need for emergency personnel and more. NOTE: Completing the application does not guarantee approval to hold your event.

 

Facility Rental Applications

The Town of Quispamsis makes many of its facilities available for rent by members of the public.

The Meenan's Cove Beach House, various sports fields, the qplex Arena and qplex Conference Centre are among venues available for your next wedding, party, or event.

 

 

Organizations renting a facility from the Town of Quispamsis can apply to have their rental fee waived or removed entirely using the Waive and Reduction of Fee Request.

 

 

Utilities Applications

The Town of Quispamsis offers members of the community as opportunity to register for pre-authorized payments for utilities.

 

The Town of Quispamsis offers community members the option of receiving water and sewerage invoices electronically, by email, instead of on paper.

Please email accountsreceivable@quispamsis.ca to arrange for electronic invoices.

Write "Email invoice signup" in the subject line and be sure to include the name of the accountholder, civic address and account number in the message.
